Book Study
The Friendship of Women

FPCA is holding book study on The Friendship of Women: The Hidden Tradition of the Bible by Joan Chittister, a Benedictine nun, theologian, author, and speaker.

The book study will run weekly, in person, for 12 sessions on Thursdays from 3 - 4:30 pm at FPCA starting from June 26. We will cover one chapter per week, approximately 6 - 8 pages per chapter.

Although the group is currently filled, please contact the office if you have any interest for this book study group, or events similar to this.

We look forward to you joining the book study group!

International House of Potluck (IHOP)
Saturday, August 23rd 2025

All nations, all people are welcome to come to the FHFH on Saturday Night, 8/23 at 6:00 PM for an International potluck. Everyone is encouraged to bring a dish to share from their heritage, or a country they have visited, or just some global food they enjoy. Drew and Barbara C. Will take food sign-ups as it gets closer to the big date. We will have international decorations and play a very fun International Trivia game after dinner.

Also, the “Outreach Committee” (formerly the Mission Comm.) would like to collect non-perishable items for the Alameda Food Bank the same evening - so start setting aside canned foods, tuna, pasta, rice, diapers etc. to donate. Can’t wait - See you there!

Dine & Connect - Meals for the Unhoused
Next Opportunity: September 22

On Monday, 6/23, an outstanding “Dine & Connect” volunteer crew

washed, chopped, diced, sliced, and cooked up a “stick-to-your-ribs” hot meal for 115 unsheltered Alamedans. We served chicken with rice, black beans and onions, salad, bread donated by Semifreddis, oreos, water and oranges, totaling 301 pounds of food cooked in the church kitchen!

All are welcome!
