Our Sunday school is taught to children from pre-K to 5th grade. We use the the GODLY PLAY curriculum.
What is Godly Play?
Children have an innate sense of the presence of God. The Godly Play approach helps them to explore their faith through story, to gain religious language and to enhance their spiritual experience though wonder and play. Based on Montessori principles and developed using a spiral curriculum, the Godly Play method serves children through early, middle and late childhood and beyond. Children 3+ are invited to join us for Godly Play after the Passing of the Peace during worship on Sunday mornings. Godly Play is a rich, child-focused, worship-based approach to Christian education. Spiritual heritage story telling is the center piece of this approach to creating a more full awareness of the mystery and wonder of God in our lives. Godly Play is located upstairs in the Christian Education building.
Cooking with Kids
On occasion children are excused from GODLY PLAY to serve the congregation by cooking for our church coffee hour. Past creations include: cookies, scones, pretzels, stromboli and muffins.
